How Turmeric Can Be of Benefit to Us

When you have endometriosis, it is recommended you include anti-inflammatory agents in your diet turmeric is a great example of this!

Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is a powerful medicine that has long been used by the Chinese and Indians as an anti-inflammatory agent to treat a wide variety of conditions. In fact, turmeric may be the most effective nutritional supplement in existence.

Turmeric has several benefits, but the reason why the yellow spice is of interest to us the most, is that studies suggest that turmeric and its compounds may be able to help with treating endometriosis. The anti-inflammatory properties of turmeric are thought to reduce pain and swelling. Experts in integrative medicine also suggest turmeric helps maintain healthy estrogen levels and apparently, turmeric is said to be a great painkiller and without side effects as well.

This is a good excuse to spice things up in the kitchen!

Not sure how to include more turmeric in your diet? You can sprinkle some over your salad for lunch, add turmeric to your breakfast omelet, or try this delicious Recipe for Turmeric & Ginger Smoothie  or warming Turmeric Latte.

NOTE:  Please speak to your doctor or dietitian if you think you need to adjust your diet.
